Creamy Mashed Potatoes

Silky, buttery mashed potatoes that reheat beautifully.

Ingredients

  • 3 lb russet or Yukon gold potatoes, peeled and quartered
  • 6 tbsp butter
  • 1/2–3/4 cup warm milk or cream
  • Salt & pepper
  • Optional: 2 oz cream cheese for extra richness

Instructions

  1. Place potatoes in cold salted water; bring to a boil and cook until very tender (15–20 min).
  2. Drain well; return to pot on low heat to steam off excess moisture 1–2 minutes.
  3. Mash with butter; add warm milk/cream until silky. Season generously with salt & pepper.
